Speedy Hire expands ESG strategy with new membership
03 April 2025

Speedy Hire has become a member of Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), a global membership platform for businesses to manage and improve ethical and responsible business practices in their supply chains.
Sedex is widely used by businesses across industries to promote transparency, mitigate risks, and drive social and environmental improvements within their supply networks.
Speedy said it will use Sedex to map its supply chain in more detail, integrate risk assessment into its Supplier onboarding process together with auditing its Supply base to better understand working conditions and drive positive impacts.
It will also use the platform to assist with capturing, analysing, monitoring and reporting on key ESG areas and indicators.
The company said joining Sedex supports its established ESG programme; ‘The Decade to Deliver’ that is built around four pillars; Accelerating Innovation, Climate Solutions, Part of the Community, and Including Everyone.
Speedy has also outlined plans to become net zero by 20240, 10 years ahead of the targets set by the UK government.
Amelia Woodley, ESG director, Speedy Hire, said, “Sustainability is a key component of our commercially sustainable growth strategy. Through our Decade to Deliver roadmap, we have set out clear targets for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and joining Sedex will help us in sourcing and developing sustainable supply partner relationships.”
Jon Hancock, CEO, Sedex, added, “Sedex is delighted to welcome Speedy Hire as a member. We welcome their commitment to sustainable business, and look forward to supporting them to achieve their social and environmental sustainability goals.”
