Sunbelt Rentals UK has placed a £2.6 million (€3 million) order for fusion machines from US-based OEM McElroy.

The order is for the TracStar 900i Butt Fusion and TracStar 500 Series 3 Automatic machines, both of which will be added to Sunbelt’s utilities segment.

Sunbelt says both machines will offer “improved reliability and productivity for customers in the utilities sector.”

The TracStar 900i comes with emissions-compliant engines, a CAN bus control system, and hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical upgrades as well as an integrated software software-controlled system for automation.

The self-propelled TracStar 500 Series 3 is said to be mobile in “almost any terrain” and comes with standard hydraulic clamping, dual pipe lifts and an economy engine throttle setting for fue conservation.

Brent Smith, director of utilities at Sunbelt Rentals, said, “Our ongoing partnership with McElroy allows us to provide our customers with the most advanced fusion machines available in the market.”

“The investment in the TracStar 900i and 500 Series 3 reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative solutions while maintaining our position as a leader in the industry. We’re excited to offer these cutting-edge machines to our customers and are confident they will exceed their expectations in terms of efficiency and quality.”

Alex Palaiologos, international business manager UK Region of McElroy added that the company is “thrilled to have Sunbelt Rentals as our partner in bringing these advanced fusion machines to the utilities sector.”

As well as the TracStar 900i and 500 Series 3, Sunbelt already offers a range of machines from McElroy, including the Tracstar 618, Tracstar 412 and the McElroy Line Tamer.
