Sunbelt takes delivery of first electric loaders
11 October 2022
Sunbelt Rentals in the US has taken delivery of a T7X all-electric compact loader from Bobcat.
The tracked loader, which is fitted with a 60.5kW lithium-ion battery and produces zero carbon emissions, was recently delivered to the rental company and is the first one to be received by its branch in Sacramento, California.
Offering almost silent operation, the T7X is suitable for use both at night and in urban locations, and is described as an environmentally friendly model designed to “outperform its diesel-powered counterparts”.
Brent Coffey, Director of Product Line Management at Sunbelt Rentals, said, “Sunbelt Rentals is pleased that customers have access to innovative technologies like the Bobcat T7X through rental and that the equipment aligns with their sustainability efforts.
“Equipment such as this is a viable way to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint and decrease noise pollution, while also ensuring they have the excellent operating performance they need.”
One of many T7X units soon to be made available for customers to rent - although no date has been confirmed - the machine was delivered under Sunbelt’s “exclusive rental agreement” for the T7X model with Bobcat. According to Sunbelt, the deal aims to bring more electric powered equipment to the North American rental market.
Joel Honeyman, vice president of global innovation at Bobcat, said, “The industry is ready for equipment that combines performance and zero emissions, so we are thrilled to partner with Sunbelt Rentals to electrify the construction business and offer a viable solution, like the all-electric T7X compact track loader.”
In addition to the T7X compact loader model, Sunbelt’s full zero-emission equipment offering includes electric scissor lifts and skid steers, as well as a contingent of Ford F-150 Lightning trucks.
