Sunstate Equipment enters Louisiana
15 April 2024
US rental company Sunstate Equipment Co is expanding its industrial solutions division with the opening of two new locations in Louisiana, its first in the state.
The location in Saint Gabriel, serving the greater Baton Rouge area, is now open, while a second facility in Sulphur (Lake Charles) is set to start business in May.
Both will hold a fleet that is suitable for construction and industrial projects, including an expansion of pumps in a range of sizes.
The company said a third location in La Porte, Texas, will open in the summer.
George Robertson, former senior vice president of sales of H&E Equipment, has been appointed district manager of the Louisiana market for Sunstate.
According to Sunstate, the expansion will allow it to provide customers throughout the region with “full support during the upcoming fall turnaround season” and comes as it ramps up growth efforts in the market.
The company already has existing facilities in the Gulf region, with branches placed along the coast from Beaumont through to Corpus Christi. The expansion would see the company have seven locations across Texas and Louisiana.
Ryan Moore, director of industrial solutions, Sunstate Equipment, said, “We are excited to have our first facility in the State of Louisiana. This continues our expansion in the industrial sector within a strong commercial construction market. We look forward to growing our footprint in Louisiana.”
Moore added that the company will “continue to invest in these locations as the market demands.” He said, “Our two new Louisiana branches position us appropriately to continue to facilitate our presence in the industrial market, as well as still handle our general equipment rentals that Sunstate is known for.”
The move comes just months after it expanded its trenching rentals division with the acquisition of sister companies Trench Shore Rentals and Trebor Shoring Rentals.
