Takeuchi celebrates excavator milestone

Japanese OEM Takeuchi has sold its 50,000th excavator in the UK and Ireland.

“The company reached this milestone when its dealer, CBL, sold a TB217R mini excavator to L-Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage as part of a recent order exceeding 100 machines. The order also included the latest third-generation 3-Series excavators

Lynch Plant Hire placed its first order for Takeuchi excavators back in 2000 for the original TB175 in both tracked and wheeled configurations.

Since then it has added several Takeuchi excavators of various sizes to its fleet.

Liam Lynch, chairman and founder of Lynch Plant Hire, said, “Our customers and service fitters liked the machine and that’s why over the years we have probably invested in more than 1000 Takeuchi units.”

Takeuchi said the achievement reflects its growing presence in the UK and Ireland.

According to Holly Cooke, marketing manager at Takeuchi UK, it took 20 years for the company to reach 25,000 sales but nine more years to double that figure.

She said, “The 50,000 milestone is a testimony to just how far the Takeuchi brand has come in the UK and Ireland with a dedicated and professional dealer network.”
