Pump manufacturer Tsurumi has launched an upgraded version of its KRS2 range of dewatering pumps.

The company said the range, which will now be known as KRD, offers several performance upgrades and improvements that “makes it easier to differentiate between the different series and sets new standards in terms of performance and reliability.”

These include a change to the insulation class of the motors, which has been raised from B/E to F.

The change means the motors can now withstand temperatures of up to 155° Celsius, improving heat protection and extending the life of the pumps.

Tsurumi said that it has also changed the dimensions of the unit slightly as a result of technical progress. The models in the series can achieve up to 4300 l/min or heads of up to 31m thanks to motor outputs of up to 18kW.

Meanwhile, the company has modified the housing material to use FC200 instead of the previous cast material FC150 (with a Brinell hardness of 212).

This is said to make the pumps more resistant to mechanical stress and ensures a longer service life, even in tough operating conditions.
