A number of rental companies have been recognised at the 2024 RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Awards for their commitment to health and safety practices.
UK-based temporary works specialist Mabey Hire picked up a 12th consecutive consecutive gold award while also coming away with the President’s Award for the third year in a row.
The award is given to companies that have won between 10 and 14 consecutive gold awards.
Meanwhile, Ardent Hire secured its seventh consecutive RoSPA gold award, which the company said is a “testament to its robust safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.”
“Receiving the RoSPA award for the seventh time underscores Ardent’s ongoing commitment to excellence and sets a benchmark for others in the industry to emulate,” the company said.
Elsewhere, Nixon Hire received the RoSPA bronze award, which is given to companies that have the essential elements of health and safety management systems in place and are working towards a fully robust health and safety regime.
Anthony Livermore, SHEQ director, Nixon Hire, said, “Your Safety Is Our Priority is embedded in the Nixon Hire Culture so this award is testament to our commitment to keeping everyone safe. I am thrilled to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation for our effort in creating a safe and secure work environment.”
Heath McHugh, Head of SHEQ at Mabey Hire, said the company is delighted to have picked up the award again; “This achievement is something we’re extremely proud of and reflects the commitment and hard work of everyone across the business, to ensure the health and safety of anyone handling and using our equipment, whether that’s our own employees or our customers.
“As a specialist temporary works provider, we provide our customers with the equipment they need to deliver their construction and engineering projects in a safe and efficient manner. We’re committed to continually improving how we work and ensuring that we keep people safe, whether that is at their desks, at one of our 16 depots, out on site or on the road. Our motto is: everyone home safe and well, every day.”
The RoSPA Awards was first held in 1968 and are designed to encourage companies to highlight their dedication to raising health and safety standards.
