United Rentals reaches training milestone

The United Academy, the training arm of US-based rental company United Rentals, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. 

The program, which the company said is the largest in the rental industry, was launched in 2014 and is designed to offer a hub for safety training and operator certification, with a wide range of courses available that focus on jobsite safety and compliance.

It comprises of more than 100 full-time certified trainers and offers training courses and OSHA certifications, including training on fall protection, worksite safety, OSHA-required training and confined space entry. 

Courses are available both online and at one of the 486 participating United Rentals locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, while many are available in Spanish and French as well as English, United said.

According to the company, which features in the IRN100 list of the largest equipment rental companies based on revenues, it has trained over 730,000 people over the past decade.
