Von Arx, a Bulgaria-based manufacturer of surface preparation equipment, has acquired German shotblasting specialist Impacts.

Founded in 2004, Impacts is a manufacturer of mobile shot blast machines, scarifiers, grinders, dust collectors and floor removal equipment for concrete, mineral substrates, asphalt, natural stone and steel surfaces.

The company will retain its branding and continue to distribute its products through its global distribution networks, while operations and manufacturing of products will remain at its headquarters in Overath.

Fredrik Akermark, owner and CEO of Von Arx, said, “By acquiring Impacts, we widen our product portfolio, reinforce our presence in the surface preparation market and are able to create a home market in Germany for both Impacts and VonArx branded products.

“Together we will be stronger. By utilising the respective companies’ strengths and continuing to offer high level of customer service, which is already both Impacts and Von Arx focus, we will be an even more attractive partner for surface preparation contractors around the world.”

Von Arx, which was founded in Switzerland in 1941, was acquired by American engineering company Emerson in 2002 before returning to European ownership in 2019 when Fredrik Åkermark acquired the company.

It has distributors across 42 countries in Europe, Asia and South America.
