Zeppelin Rental celebrates milestone

Germany-based equipment rental company Zeppelin Rental has marked the 20th anniversary since it merged with MVS AG with an event for its employees in Hamburg.

The company, a subsidiary of Zeppelin Group, was initially known as Zeppelin Mietservice, the first rental unit of Zeppelin Baumaschinen that started out renting Caterpillar construction machines.

Then, after the company acquired MVS AG, it rebranded to become MVS Zeppelin GmbH & Co. KG in 2004.

Another rebrand followed in 2012 when the company assumed its current name of Zeppelin Rental GmbH.

“With the merger, we were faced with the great challenge of creating a new, modern rental company with its own identity,” said Peter Schrader, managing director of Zeppelin Rental.

The company said that since then it has “continuously diversified as a result of the acquisition of various companies in the areas of construction site and traffic safety as well as construction logistics” and expanded its offering and services to focus on digitalisation and sustainability.

An example of this came when the company achieved platinum certification in the most recent EcoVadis rating, which it said makes it one of the most sustainable 1% of companies in Germany.

More recently, the company created a new brand, ecoSolutions, for its range of green services.

To mark the milestone, the company hosted an in-house exhibition and subsequent party for employees and guests of honour in Hamburg this summer. Guests included Andreas Brand, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH and the Mayor of Friedrichshafen.

The company said the event offered information stands, hands-on activities and specialist lectures to those in attendance. 

Schrader added, “We wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate 20 years of success together. To this end, we invited all colleagues from all areas to celebrate this festival with us and to enjoy this day together.”
