FPT shows expanded engine lineup at PowerGen

FPT Industrial, an Iveco Group brand, will be showing its solutions for the power generation industry at PowerGen International, Feb. 11-13, in Dallas, Texas. On display will be the company’s newly expanded lineup of 2.4 to 16 L engines.

Tier 4 Final/Stage V-compliant engines scheduled to be displayed range in displacement from 3.4 L (F34) to 8.7 L (Cursor 9) and are designed for enhanced transient load response and power. Maximum gen-set prime power ranges from 47 to 275 kWe at 60 Hz; max standby power ranges from 47 to 304 kWe at 60 Hz.

The engines utilize the HI-eSCR2 system to meet Tier 4 Final and Stage V standards. This system maintains the same dimensions of previous solutions, requiring no machine redesign or layout changes, the company stated. The engines are also fully compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which FPT Industrial said can reduce the CO2 impact by up to 90%.

Other benefits include optimized fluid consumption, a maintenance-free aftertreatment system and 600-hour service interval.

FPT Industrial’s Tier 3 engines are designed to provide emergency, stationary power with low fuel consumption, low maintenance costs and a compact footprint. The line includes engines from 4.5 L (N45) to 12.9 L (CURSOR 13), and power ratings from 50 kWe to 350 kWe. The N45 4.5-liter engine, which will be shown at PowerGen, is available in both mechanical and electronically controlled versions.

All Tier 3 engine models feature G-Drive, a quick-to-market solution, thanks to the pre-assembled cooling pack and air cleaner, the company said.

FPT Industrial also offers solutions for unregulated markets, ranging from 2.4 L to 16 L G-Drive engines that deliver power from 20 kWe to 550 kWe and are available with mechanical or electronic injection system, naturally aspirated or turbocharged. The flexibility to switch between 50 to 60 Hz allows for efficient stock management by customers, the company added. These engines will be represented by the 2.4 L R24 rated for 30 kWe max gen-set prime power at 60 Hz.

FPT Industrial said it is expanding its offering even further through the efforts of a dedicated ePowertrain department, established in 2018. Today, the brand’s electric lineup includes eAxles, Central Drives and energy storage and management solutions.

Finally, the booth will include MyFPT by Customer Service, a set of solutions designed to support customers throughout the engine lifecycle. Visitors will be able to explore the portfolio – including the Control Room port for remotely and proactively monitoring engines – through the new 3D digital platform My FPTWorld.
