Irdeto and Trackunit partner on equipment sharing

Irdeto’s equipment sharing technology will be available on Trackunit’s IrisX operating data platform under a new partnership between the two technology businesses.

Netherlands-based Irdeto supplies its Imperto equipment pooling system to construction contractors and equipment rental firms. The partnership will mean that the Impertu solution can be easily integrated with Trackunit’s telematics-based data platform.

“This is a really significant development…because it will enable us to deliver even better insights to our customers leveraging the IrisX platform,” said Daniel Thunberg, business owner of Irdeto’s Imperto technology.

“We will be able to scale the Imperto solution across a global ecosystem by removing structural barriers for adoption thereby enabling even more efficient utilization of equipment rentals across jobsites.

Thunberg said the alliance will create a bridge between the Irdeto and Trackunit cloud platforms; “We will also be able to leverage Trackunit’s Access Management solution to make workflows around all our equipment pooling more process-driven and efficient.”

He added that the partnership would help rental companies and contractors improve processes around equipment booking, inspection, billing and maintenance, while also allowing for time-specific rental agreements and higher productivity on the jobsite.

Trackunit CEO Soeren Brogaard said the alliance represented two cloud-based platforms coming together to create a better solution for customers,”We’re excited to bring Imperto by Irdeto’s equipment pooling expertise to our customer base.

“Together, this will create a more streamlined and efficient ecosystem that will cut down on waste, lower costs and boost productivity.

“Any agreement that is centered on data sharing, transparency and efficiency can only be good for us and construction as a whole as it strengthens the industry’s battle against downtime.”

Irdeto is best known as a cybersecurity specialist, supplying technology used in the video streaming and video games industry, as well as cybersecurity in the transportation business. It has more than 1000 employees and has 10 locations worldwide.

Within the construction industry it provides technology to manage jobsite equipment, including equipment sharing, ‘click & collect’ solutions and access control.

Trackunit is the global market leader for telematics in the construction equipment business.
