Gromet enters access equipment market
24 August 2021
Gromet, an Italy-based specialist in metal working, including laser cutting and robotic welding, has entered the access industry with the launch of a low level access brand.
The 4m working height Manulift 200 pusharound and the 4.95m working height Elift 350 electric-powered units are the first models in the new Axolift by Gromet product range, which will be presented for the first time at the GIS crane and access equipment show in Italy, in October.
Gromet said it saw an opportunity to move into the low level access market, of up to 5m working height, due the growing demand for safety in the workplace. “We think that there will be a gradual, yet continually growing attention to safety. Many accidents occur when using ladders and our Manulift model is meant as a replacement,” said a company spokesperson.
The pusharound Manulift 200 has dimensions of 1160mm x 770mm x 1670mm and can fit through a standard doorway. Basket dimensions are 740mm x 640mm. At 249kg, the purely mechanical unit, with no battery or hydraulics, has a maximum capacity of 110kg in the basket.
The 100% electric Elift 350 has dimensions of 1165mm x 750mm x 1740mm and also fits through a standard doorway. It offers a platform with a capacity of 180kg, for one person, plus tools.
The maximum platform height of 2.95m can be reached in 30 seconds, while maximum speed, with the platform raised is 2km/hour, while the battery can operate continously on a single charge for eight hours. The 350kg machine can travel at 4km/hour when lowered.
The company added, “The brand was launched in 2020 but due to the difficult Covid situation in Italy last year, we could not proceed as planned. Now, with our knowhow in metal construction and engineering and our in-house technology, we can be one of the players in this market.”
The GIS show takes place in Piacenza, Italy, 7-9 October.
