New ALEC president highlights rental training priority
17 January 2014
The new president of Brazil’s rental association ALEC said the organisation will prioritise efforts to train and professionalise the country’s rental sector, as well as creating a new sub-division within the organisation for rental companies in the state of São Paulo.
Fernando Augusto L. de Moraes Forjaz, of Formeq Rental in São Paulo, who was voted president for a two year term in late December, said the association’s board had been strengthened with the appointment of senior executives at rental companies who would bring new ideas to advance the Brazilian rental market.
“The new managers of the association in 2014/2015 will have the following objectives: increased training, improving the profitability of the rental sector, the creation of a new sub-association for rental companies in the State of São Paulo, and market research to determine the number of rental companies in Brazil and their location.”
Training will focus on rental management, fleet maintenance, commercial operations – including how to calculate a profitable rental price – and legal and safety topics.
Mr Forjaz emphasised the importance of ALEC’s annual FELOC Rental event which brings together rental companies and suppliers and which he described as “the only show in South America dedicated exclusively to the rental segment.” The next FELOC Rental takes place in São Paulo on 23-24 July, 2014.
Also on the agenda said Mr Forjaz is exchanges with rental associations around the world to “exchange experiences and information that may contribute to greater empowerment of the rental sector in Brazil.”
