Mecalac expands MTX models and adds electrics
25 March 2025
Fresh from the announcement that it is to be acquired by French manufacturing giant Fayat Group, Mecalac will use Bauma to showcase 27 of its excavators, wheel loaders and site dumpers, including two new battery powered machines.
One highlight will be the new 12 series wheel excavator loaders, an updating of its well-known 12MTX model for excavating, loading, material handling and tool carrying.

The MTX gets an upgrade and is now joined by the 12MSX and 12MRX models.
The MSX is targeted at rental buyers and owner-operators, and comes with a smaller 55kW engine and will be priced around 10% less than the premium 12MRX. The MSX is pitched at the price of a standard 10t excavator.
The 12MRX is a wider, heavier “peak productivity” model, with a 2.39m width compared to the 2.25m of the 12MTX. It has heavier duty axles and a 40kph top speed. (Width will rise to 2.5m when fitted with ‘balloon’ flotation tyres).
All three of the 12 series models feature new technology, including joystick steering, boom suspension to reduce the bouncing effect while travelling, and boom float, to reduce vibrations on the machine when working.
Also on the stand will be the new rotating cab backhoe loader, the Revo990, which the company announced in early 2025. This machine – which is based on the existing TLB990 backhoe - draws on the technology used by Mecalac on its rotating cab site dumper launched at Bauma 2022. The TLB version will still be available.
Mecalac says the Revo will give operators effective 360 degree visibility through the 240 degree rotation of the cab, and will make it much easier for operators to reposition for excavating or loading. The machine, which uses the same digging booms at the TLB, can drive wherever the cab is positioned.
Expansion of electric range
The OEM will also expand its range of electric machines, adding to the existing E12 excavator (battery version of the 12MTX), the ES1000 wheel loader and the EMDX site dumper.
New at Bauma will be the eMWR, a battery version of its MWR wheeled excavator range. With a 75kW lithium ion battery pack placed in the undercarriage (replacing the fuel tanks on the diesel version), the eMWR will offer 7hr operation on 1hr of high-speed charge.
The other new electric machine will be the es900 loader, a smaller version of the es1000 model launch at Bauma 2022. This will have a 75kW battery pack and will offer 8hr operation on a 4 hour charge.
Mecalac says the three electric machines seen in 2022 have been successful for the company, particularly in France, the Netherlands and Norway, and thinks its five electric models make it one of the only suppliers to offer that range of mid-size machines.
