Friday Roundup: Zeppelin at Bauma | Turner’s return | ERA 2025 plan

Rental companies announced their exhibition plans for Bauma and leadership changes in the week of January 23 to 29, while the European Rental Association (ERA) outlined three key priorities for 2025.

At Bauma 2025 in Munich (April 7–13), Zeppelin Rental will offer an interactive digital experience at the Zeppelin Rental Dome, showcasing sustainable solutions from its ecoRent program.

The company will also showcase equipment from its ecoRent program, including electric and hybrid machinery designed to reduce emissions. It has a three-story container setup featuring a rooftop terrace and green space, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and sustainable site solutions.

As digitalisation and eco-friendly construction gain momentum, how will Zeppelin’s rental services evolve?

Fleet management

Wynne Systems has partnered with Foresight Intelligence to integrate telematics into its RentalMan ERP platform. The Fleet Intelligence solution will provide rental companies with real-time data on equipment location, utilisation, and maintenance, improving operational efficiency.

Incus5 said it will showcase its fleet management platform at the ARA Show in Las Vegas (January 28 to February 1). Designed for rental companies and contractors, the platform consolidates owned and rented equipment data into a single interface, integrating telematics and ERP systems.

Norty Turner’s return

Sunstate Equipment has named Norty Turner its new president and CEO, effective February 10. He succeeds Chris Watts, who will retire in March after nearly 30 years with the company.

Turner brings extensive industry experience, having held leadership roles at Hertz Equipment Rental, Riwal, and United Rentals. His appointment signals a new chapter for Sunstate, a top-10 generalist rental company in North America with €770 million in revenue in 2023.

As Sunstate moves forward under Turner’s leadership, how will his experience shape the company’s future in the competitive rental industry?

ERA’s priorities for 2025

The ERA has outlined three key priorities for 2025: sustainability, digitalisation, and workforce development.

With rising environmental concerns, how can rental companies reduce carbon emissions and adopt greener practices? ERA aims to support its members with tools like Carbon Reporting Guidance and Sustainability KPIs.

Top priorities are addressing workforce shortages, improving safety standards, and helping rental businesses embrace AI and digital transformation. The ERA Convention will take place on June 4-5 in Dublin, welcoming members and non-members.

Meanwhile, Kranpunkten is taking bold steps toward sustainability by introducing electric trucks to deliver rental equipment in Malmö, Gothenburg, and Stockholm-Mälardalen. With 86% of its fleet already hybrid or electric, the company now offers fully electric transport solutions, helping customers achieve their environmental goals.
