New Stark depot in Denmark has “large rental department’

A large equipment rental department has been included in a major new location opened in Denmark by STARK Group, the retailer and distributor of building materials.

Stark, which operates 1,100 branches in the UK, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, said the new 10,500m2 depot in Næstved, in the southern part of Zealand, said the location will improve service for tradespeople in the region and offer an extensive product range, including a large rental department for construction machines.

The depot will be the company’s largest branch in the southern part of Zealand. It can deliver 50,000 products to tradespeople and construction sites within 24 hours.

Stark said the location will significantly boost the efficiency and connectivity of its business network and logistics solutions in and around the city.

Britta Korre Stenholt, CEO of STARK Danmark, said the company is opening the branch to be close to where construction is happening.

“Næstved is truly a city in growth. It should be easy and convenient for tradespeople in the area to purchase building materials from STARK, and now it is,” she said.

She added that the company received a fantastic welcome in Næstved as the city mayor inaugurated the new depot with 500 guests.

The location is designed with sustainability in mind and aims to achieve a low-emission classification and the DGNB Gold certification. DGNB stands for the German Sustainable Building Council.

STARK Group is a business-to-business merchant and distributor of heavy building materials for the construction industry in Europe. It has net sales of €7.8 billion in the financial year 2023/24.

The company employs more than 19,000 employees in Europe and its businesses include Jewson in the UK, which includes a significant tool hire business.
