Zeppelin Rental launches used equipment platform

Zeppelin Rental has launched an online platform that enables customers to purchase used equipment from its rental fleet in Germany.

With the launch of the platform, the company is making a wide range of machinery, including compressors, power generators, and vibrating plates, available for purchase.

Zeppelin said the platform marks a “significant step in the company’s digitalisation strategy” and will allow it to enhance accessibility and streamline the purchasing process.

It said that it will also play a key role in renewing its rental fleet in an annual basis, enabling it to “offer the latest technology in the field of machine and equipment rental.”

The new online platform covers categories such as construction equipment, power supply and lighting, heating, drying and air conditioning technology, elevators, cranes, lifts, and landscaping technology.

Potential buyers can request their desired equipment online without obligation and receive a non-binding offer via email.

“When developing the tool, we paid attention to ensuring that it was as user-centric as possible and that the process was as simple as possible,” said Benjamin Höck, Head of Digital Business & Partnering at Zeppelin Rental.

“The sale of used equipment now occupies a prominent place on our homepage and is given a whole new level of visibility.”

Martin Sebestyén, Head of Fleet Management & Pricing, added, “We answer incoming inquiries within 24 hours, from Friday to Sunday on the next working day. Other advantages include increased flexibility and service: the teams in the rental stations provide support from advice to logistics and are available to answer all questions and requests relating to the purchase.”

In recent years Zeppelin Rental has grown its online and fleet footprints respectively. Last year it unveiled ecoSolutions, a new brand for its expanding range of green products and services.

In 2022 it launched the Rental+app (also available via ecoSolutions), which see’s the company liaise with customers working on construction projects to decide what equipment they are likely to need to hire.
