What will be on show at ConExpo 2023?

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the organiser of Conexpo-Con/Agg 2023, has confirmed that all exhibit space for the upcoming US mega show has sold out, meaning the 2023 edition is set be the biggest ConExpo to date.

Conexpo-Con/Agg will feature 1800 exhibitors along with a program of 150 education sessions.

Major construction OEMs

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) will exhibit via a “one-of-a-kind booth experience” designed to inform attendees on developments in an “ever-changing business environment.”

With a theme of “Change Starts Here. Be Ready For It,” the 5,000 square metre Volvo booth in the Festival Grounds will feature new and recent products, services and technology.

“We are committed to being a fossil free company by 2040, But words will not reach targets. Only moving from words to action will,” said Melker Jernberg, president of Volvo CE.

“At Conexpo we want to help our customers be prepared for the change by showcasing our wide range of commercially available electric machines packaged with related charging infrastructure and other sustainable power alternatives.”

Volvo CE will also showcase its electric range expansion with the EC230 Electric mid-size excavator and DD25 Electric asphalt compactor.

And on display will be autonomous concepts and the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell articulated hauler.

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas will be showcasing new, current and future machine models, plus demos of machine safety and remote management systems.

Among new Hyundai models at the show are three compact excavators – the HX35AZ, HX40A and HX48AZ.

Smart construction technology

Meanwhile the Komatsu stand will feature electric equipment, along with Komatsu’s Smart construction technology solutions, which merge advanced automation and integrated technologies for jobsite efficiency.

The OEM will promote intelligent Machine Control 2.0 solutions designed to reduce the skills gap between new and experienced operators.

US stalwart John Deere says that it will have its largest presence ever at Conexpo in Las Vegas.

For the first time at Conexpo Deere and Wirtgen will share the same booth space, which will total around 7500 square metres.

John Deere and Wirtgen combined will have 68 machines on display including nine electric or electric hybrid models. John Deere and the Wirtgen Group’s show stand will offer customers an “engaging experience and an all-encompassing snapshot of the future of construction through industry-leading equipment and technology,” the group said in a release.

Specialised machinery will also be on show; Wirtgen Group-owned Vögele will present a selection from its current product range: including the small paver, the Super 700i, the Super 1300-3i compact paver and the Super 1703-3i 8 ft (2.5m) paver through to the Super 2000-3i 10 ft (3m) paver.

Vögele will be presenting machines for narrow paving jobs such as on pedestrian and cycle paths. In combination with the AB 220 extending screed, the Super 700i small paver.

Fuel agnostic engines

Engine specialist Cummins will exhibit its fuel-agnostic 15 L engine platform with hydrogen, biogas and advanced diesel engines at Conexpo-Con/Agg.

Below the head gasket, the fuel-agnostic architecture utilizes a common base engine, while above the head gasket, the cylinder heads and fuel systems are specifically tailored for hydrogen, natural gas, diesel and biofuels, including HVO.

The ConexpCon/Agg education program will comprise a number of business-oriented sessions, including, ‘Optimizing Fleet & Asset Management with Usage-Based Equipment Financing’ delivered by Matthew Jennings, Pay-per-use Commercial Leader at construction finance specialist DLL.

Jennings will discuss how pay-per-use models work, the questions business owners should ask to determine if pay-per-use is a fit for their operations, and how the data and insights provided by pay-per-use models support better fleet and asset management.
