Wynne Systems update to “streamline” inventory management

Wynne Systems has updated its RentalMan suite with the addition of inventory management capabilities.

The company said it designed RapidCount to meet the complex challenges rental companies face in inventory counts for parts, merchandise and equipment, enabling its customers to access faster and easier inventory counts.

Key features of RapidCount includes automated task management which sends tasks directly to employees in RapidCount’s desktop environment in Wynne Hub.

After, a mobile app, available on IoS and Android, sends employees tasks directly after the assignment and allows them to start counting and updating inventory in real time.

Employees can also scan barcodes on items and equipment to quickly and accurately identify items for count updates, while inventory updates go directly to RentalMan and Reporter, allowing users to generate reports that guide stock level decisions and help identify discrepancies.

Craig Richmond, senior product manager, Wynne Systems, said, “RapidCount hits two birds with one stone when it comes to inventory management. It provides rental companies with an option to implement frequent and accurate inventory counting processes.

“Adding more frequent visibility on inventory will help companies save hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars every year by cutting the wasteful spending associated with over and understocking.

“While it provides that visibility, it also helps employees conduct counts faster by eliminating the pen, paper, and manual data entry that’s typically involved, freeing up thousands of hours per year that they could use for more impactful work.”

Richmond said the company is also working on future updates to the platform, which includes an inventory dashboard that will highlight inventory imbalances, provide demand forecasting capabilities, and automate branch transfers, and a purchasing module that will include standardised purchasing, allow companies to store preferred suppliers and automate purchasing
