Generac Mobile further expands the GLT lighting tower range with two hybrid models

01 October 2024

Generac Pramac introduces two new lighting towers, GLT4-A Hybrid and GLT4-M Hybrid, both powered by a hybrid system consisting of a fuel-efficient 2-cyl. engine and a powerful battery pack.

At the beginning of 2024, the Pramac Generac group launched the GLT Series, a new range of mobile lighting towers that have progressively replaced most of the models of lighting towers equipped with a trailer.

Following a new global brand strategy aimed at elevating brand awareness, the GLT model has a standardised design that is conceptually modular. A GLT lighting tower can be equipped with a 2- or 3-cylinder engine or with a hybrid system (engine+battery); it can have a mast with manual, electric or hydraulic lifting system; it can be installed on a site or road trailer or even on a galvanised skid base; it can mount 4 or 6 LED floodlights with a 240W or 320W power each, and with the option of adjustable light output.

Thanks to almost three decades of experience in the market sector, Generac Mobile has combined these features adhering on the major demands of international markets, thus expanding the range into six main models, plus a few others specifically customised for peculiar markets, so that any segment and possible application can be covered.

The most recent introductions have been the two models GLT4-A Hybrid and GLT4-M Hybrid, both powered by a hybrid system consisting of a fuel-efficient 2-cylinder engine and a powerful AGM battery pack, the combined use of which provides a very long operating time while drastically reducing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.

The GLT4-A Hybrid replaces the VT-Hybrid, which was the first hybrid lighting tower in the world, launched on the market by the company back in 2013. While retaining all the environmentally friendly features of its predecessor, the GLT4-A Hybrid introduces new important features such as more powerful LED floodlights (increasing from 120 to 240W each); a more powerful and fuel-efficient 2-cylinder engine; and the ability to manually adjust the light output of the floodlights to prioritise the extension of the illuminated area or the duration of the running time according to the need of the moment. In addition, the model is installed on a high-speed trailer and an 8.2 m high mast with a hydraulic lifting system.

The GLT4-M Hybrid model, on the other hand, is the first example of an entry-level hybrid lighting tower, designed for customers who are starting to switch from standard diesel-powered models to more environmentally friendly solutions. This model is equipped with a 7-metre manually raised mast and a site trailer, while the hybrid features are the same as those of its hydraulic counterpart.

Ecological innovation must always go hand in hand with technological innovation, which is why every GLT model is equipped with a digital controller manufactured by Deep Sea Electronics, which allow complete and easy control of the lighting tower and can be equipped with a telemetric remote-control system.

A further feature that the company will introduce in the following months is the GLT Hybrid with Lithium battery, which will sit alongside the current AGM version.
