Double track and truck mount launch from Ruthmann

The STEIGER T 330 XS from Ruthmann has a working height of 33m.

Ruthmann has confirmed the launch of a new tracked platform and a truck mounted machine.

Both were introduced at the Platformers’ Days exhibition, which took place in Germany during September. The company’s new Steiger T 330 XS has a working height of 33m and an outreach of 21.75m - “almost 60cm more” than its predecessor model, the Steiger T 330.

Suitable for a range of applications including building maintenance, the T 330 XS is shorter than its predecessor and, with a wheelbase measuring 3.9m, is described by the manufacturer as being “very manoeuvrable”.

Ruthmann said its “engineers have been able to reduce the length of the retracted telescopic boom on the new T 330 XS”, to give it a more stable boom profile and a more compact boom head.

The tacked platform also features Ruthmann’s jack control stand, which is integrated into the chassis at eye level to allow users to easily operate the machine.

Inkeeping with the company’s multi-chassis concept, the platform can be mounted on 7.49 to 8.6t chassis from different manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Iveco.

Thanks to its new telescope design, the machine can be equipped with any of the manufacturer’s T-range working baskets and its cockpit offers several “comfortable functions and real-time readable operating data”.

“It provides the working platform operator with all relevant data at all times. In addition, important vehicle data e.g. fuel level are now displayed,” said Ruthmann.

Alongside the T 330 XS, Ruthmann also presented its new Bluelift ST 31 spider lift at the show in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The new rubber-tracked working platform has a working height of 31m and a 14m outreach when carrying a 400kg load, which increases to an 18m outreach when equipped with a 100kg basket load.

Featuring Steiger technology, the new ST 31 is designed to fit through narrow openings and measures1.14m wide and 1.99m tall.

Its hydraulic chassis can be extended out up to 1.62m for added stability, and a jack lift of 1.35m enables diverse applications also on steep terrain, stairs or podiums.

Ruthmann said, “The jacks can be adapted in several positions to the conditions of use in order to also be able to work in confined spaces. The stabilisation range amounts to 3.34 x 8.26m in the narrowest position and 6.15 x 5.78m in the widest one.”

In addition to being available with either a diesel or a 230V electric engine, the platform is also available with a choice of working baskets.

Two aluminium 180-degree rotating basket versions are being offered by the manufacturer, which can both can be changed by just one person in just a “few minutes”. While the standard small basket measures 1.3 x 0.7m, a larger one offers dimensions of 1.8 x 0.8 metres.

For easy operation, the model has also been equipped with a new control panel that features a large colour display. This provides machine operators with “a complete overview of all relevant operating data”, said Ruthmann.
