Boels places ‘substantial’ JCB order

Boels Rental has placed an order for 700 new machines from UK-based manufacturer JCB.

The €78 million order includes a range of equipment, such as excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers, and a number of electric scissor lifts and dumpers.

Among the new additions to Boels’ fleet will be the JCB 145XR X Series tracked excavator, featuring a reduced rear swing. 

Launched last year, the JCB 145XR is a reduced tail-swing, 14.5 tonne excavator in JCB’s X-Series. It combines a compact design for enhanced maneuverability with powerful performance, the OEM said.

Key features include a digging depth of 5.83m, a reach of 8.55m, and an operating weight of 14.5 tonnes.

The 145XR is powered by a 4-cylinder JCB Dieselmax engine, providing 81.5 kW of power. Its hydraulics ensure high digging forces and smooth operation, JCB said, making it a versatile machine for urban construction and confined spaces.

The machines are expected to be delivered and made available for rental in the coming months, according to Boels.

All the excavators and wheeled loading shovels purchased in the deal are set to be used in central Europe, particularly in Germany, to support Boels’ focus on the contractor sector.

JCB has supplied Boels since 2012, with the rental company taking delivery of more than 3,000 machines in that time.
