Equipment manufacturer Platform Basket (PB) is to launch a new 39m spider lift model at next week’s GIS 2021 exhibition in Italy.

Featuring a telescopic boom, the Spider 39T is equipped with extendable crawler tracks, and is powered by a 37kW diesel engine.

It will be on display to the public for the first time at the specialist lifting equipment event, which runs from the 7 to 9 October in Piacenza.

Based on the design of the company’s larger Spider 43T machine, the 39T is fitted with rubber tracks and stabilisers. According to PB, the machine is “incredibly stable” and particularly well suited for telecommunication and electrification applications.

PB said, “All new projects developed by Platform Basket now also allow the use of lifting winches, rendering the equipment more versatile to use.

“Platform Basket as a company created a small interchangeable winch with basket with a Plug & Play approach: in just a few minutes the platform can be converted into a radio-controlled hoist for moving light loads.”

The Spider 39T model fills the gap in the company’s existing tracked platform range, joining the Spider 27.14, 30T, 33.15 and the larger Spider 43T.

It will be on show at GIS 2021 (stand L20-M15), alongside PB’s new RR9/200 tracked platform for rail applications.

Capable of a carrying two people and a maximum 200kg payload capacity, the model can be transported on a lightweight road trailer attached to a van or pic-up truck.

PB, which is curently rolling the model out across Europe, Canada and Australia, said the model is available in both diesel and fully electric versions.
